Seltatel supplies VoIP solutions for SMEs to Telefonica

Seltatel is the new technological partner of Telefonica through the services and telecommunication technologies IP-based offer for small and medium Spanish enterprises.

The agreement with Telefonica includes the communication systems supply beloning to the SAMIP family, with configurations growing from few units to hundreds of systems, IP terminals, softphones and CTI applications.
Telefonica inserted the Seltatel ‘made in Italy’ technologies in the newest offer “Puesto de Voz en Red“, which includes the supply of communication systems, terminals, installation and a flat charge of 16 euros per month and per user.

Worldwide VoIP network for Italian Trade Commission

Alcatel-Lucent has been selected by ICE – Italian Trade Commission (Istituto nazionale per il Commercio Estero), to deploy an international VoIP network connecting more than 80 sites worldwide.

Alcatel-Lucent will deploy a data IP network customized to meet the specific needs of individual offices both in national and international offices.
The new infrastructure combines traditional telephony with IP and multimedia communications to support advanced services such as unified communication, collaboration services, instant messaging and mobility services
Featured products include Alcatel-Lucent’s OmniPCX Enterprise IP telephony solution, OmniVista network management and IP Touch handsets.

Green light for FMC services

The National Regulatory Authority is expected today to release new rules concerning the fixed-mobile convergent services that has been formerly blocked by harsh litigation between Telecom Italia and Vodafone.

The Unico/Unica service announced long ago by Telecom Italia (based on UMA technology) and the Vodafone Casa (home zone) service announced by Vodafone (based on GSM cell id) should finally be available soon to consumers.

MIX peering exchange in Milan deploys VoIP interconnect

The Milan Internet eXchange (MIX), the primary Internet exchange point in Italy, has opened a new VoIP service to facilitate inter-carrier VoIP peering and interconnection.

After a six-month trial period, MIX chose a session border control (SBC) product supplied by NexTone to gain visibility and intelligence to exchange, optimize, secure, and bill for voice sessions (or calls) flowing through its interconnections.
