Fastweb to expand its network

Fastweb is ready to invest € 60 m in 2007 to expand its network in order to serve a further 1.4 m potential customer.

Fastweb will extend its fibre optic infrastructure by approximately 1,000 kilometres to include a number of new regions, among which Sardinia, Basilicata and Calabria.

Following such expansion, Fastweb's all-IP network will cover all main Italian cities.

Coverage will increase from 10 million to 11.4 million potential customers, reaching 50% of the Italian market from current 45%.
