The collapse of Elitel

Another Italian OLO is in trouble and its 400k users experience the worst nightmare: no service and no advance notice.

A few days ago Telecom Italia’s wholesale division ended its service to Elitel because of the huge debt (more € 100m) it accumulated. As a result, an estimated 400k users has been abruptly cut from any phone and broadband connections.

Elitel, a company formerly listed on the London’s AIM exchange (and later suspended because it could not publish its latest accounts) ) is the latest victim of fierce competition and, possibily, of bad management and lack of financial discipline.
