Telefonica and Italian banks to control Telecom Italia

A group of Italian banks and insurance companies allied with Telefonica will buy the controlling stake of Telecom Italia owned by Pirelli.

At the end of the transaction they will cumulatively own around 23% of Telecom Italia, currently enough to control the company and to designate the management team.
