UMTS vs. flat rate ADSL in Italian households

According to a recent research by ANIE, Italian households do embrace more and more technology, but they are really still in love only with their mobile phones.

Surprisingly, at end of 2006, just 16% of Italian families had a flat-rate broadband connection, while more than 22% had a UMTS phone.

I wonder how many the 22% of people having a UMTS phone actually use it for advanced features such as video calling and (mobile) Internet access. I think many people have a UMTS phone and don't even know it. I am thinking of '3' for example. They only sell UMTS phones. However, I think many people just bought one for making phone calls. So the real question would be: 16% ADSL families vs. ???% UMTS data service families ;-)

Cheers,
Martin
