Telecom Italia in 2009

According to what Telecom Italia told earlier this week to the financial community, the customer portfolio for international operations would in 2009 account for around 48% of the entire Group and revenues from international operations would grow from the current 16% (approx.) of the total revenues to 30% (approx.) in 2009.

The growth will come from TIM Brasil (not to be sold as previously thought), Telecom Argentina and from European broadband projects (currently developed in Germany, France and The Netherland).

In Italy, Telecom Italia plans to have 7.5 m broadbdand retail customers, 3 m VoIP retail customers and 0.7 m IPTV customer at the end of 2009. In the same timeframe, 43% of mobile customers would have migrated to 3G/4G technology.

In the meantime, Pirelli, that now controls Telecom Italia through the financial holding company Olimpia, is seeking a buyer for its shares.

Therefore, stay tuned for another new 3 years plan soon…
