Is the “per call” fee dead as well?

After being banned to charge an extra fee for every recharge operation by pre-paid customers, Italian mobile network operators risk losing also the lucrative “per call” fee they charge as soon as a call is established.

The president of the National Regulatory Authority (AGCOM), Corrado Calabrò, publicly stated that it would be wise to ban the per call fee (usually € 0,15 – € 0,20) as requested by several consumer advocates.
He also insisted that mobile international roaming charges must be reduced as well.
