No more mobile recharges

As expected, the Italian Government started its war against the mobile recharge fee. This decision will potentially wipe off € 2 bn of revenues from MNO’s balance sheets.

A new urgent decree approved by the Italian Government is banning the mobile recharge fee within 30 days.
None of the four Italian mobile operators made any public comment so far. They are probably still thinking whether to fight this decision in court or trying to recover this massive loss of revenues through different tariffs structures.
In the meantime, consumer advocates are cheering.
