Despite the current turmoil in the company, Telecom Italia was able to successfully bid for the German operation of AOL.
The Italian incumbent bought AOL Germany from Time Warner for € 675 million.
Telecom Italia, which already had a German operation through Hansenet, will become the second biggest broadband operator in the German market with over 2 million access lines and 3.2 million customers.
