Three of the four Italian mobile network operators have already launched their commercial HSDPA service. All of them are currently targeting business users while Vodafone is also promoting the new high speed service to high-end consumers.
Vodafone’s HSDPA services reaches 40% of population, due to become 60% by year’s end. 3 Italia (H3G) has a similar coverage while TIM declares HSDPA’s coverage will reach 50% of Italy by year’s end.
Both TIM and 3 Italia launched special promotional offers based on traffic usage while Vodafone is busy promoting a much simpler time-based tariff.
