28 Mbps HSPA broadband mobile access in Milan

Telecom Italia will deploy live mobile broadband speeds of 28 Mbps in Italy using Ericsson's HSPA mobile network technology.
Tests in Telecom Italia's mobile network will start early 2009 and initial deployment is planned in the city of Milan in June 2009.
National coverage will follow in the second half of 2009.

Alcatel-Lucent supplies Italy's first nationwide commercial WiMAX Rev-e network

Alcatel-Lucent has been selected by Aria as prime supplier for building and maintaining a nation-wide wireless broadband network based on WiMAX 802.16e-2005 (Rev-e) technology.

Earlier this year, Aria won the auction of the WiMAX 3.5 GHz radio frequencies in all Italian regions.

Telecom Italia exits the pay-per-view over DVB-T market

TI Media, the ailing broadcaster owned by Telecom Italia, is selling its pay-per-view operation over DVB-T digital terrestrial television to Swedish company Airplus TV.
